Education:

-          1993-2005: Student of Master Instructor Zahirah, of Lebanese heritage. Focus: Classic Raks Sharki, Cabaret, Folk Dances.

-          1995-2006: Received instruction from over thirty Middle Eastern dance instructors including: Alexandra King, Bert Balladine, Rachel Brice, FCBD (Carolena Nericchio, Jill Parker, Rina Rall), Aziz, Elena Lentini, Delilah, Suzanna Del Vecchio, Hadiya, Dalia Carella, Kami Liddle, Dahlal, Rhea, etc.

-          Instruction in Middle Eastern music and rhythms, with an emphasis on percussion, from Armando Maufufo, Michael Beach, and Brett Boeing (AKA Angus).

Teaching Experience:

-          1995: Assistant instructor to Zahirah and began teaching beginning level classes.

-          1995-Present: Teaching up to three classes per week beginning, intermediate, and advanced. Average of 10 students per class. Including Choreography and Stage work.

-          1998-2001: Instructor at Snowbird Resort’s World Class Spa. Mind, Body, Spirit program. Snowbird, Utah

-          2005: Instructor for sword workshop (50 students) at Utah State University Middle Eastern Dance Program in Logan, Utah.

-          2005: Instructor for double-veil workshop, hosted by Amina (40 students) in Taylorsville, Utah.

-          2006: Instructor for Kashlimar (9/8) workshop in Salt Lake City, Utah (10 students).

-          2006-2007: Enrichment Courses Instructor for Laramie County Community College in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Average of 30 students per class, two classes per semester.

-          2006-2007: Continuing Education courses for University of Wyoming in Laramie. Average of 15 students per class, two classes per semester.

-          2006-2007: Weekly classes at Canyon Concert Ballet in Fort Collins, Colorado.

Production:

-          Founding member/Assistant, Desert Orchid Dance Company, Salt Lake City’s only Middle-Eastern dance group listed in the University Of Utah’s Middle-East Outreach Program and The Utah Artist’s Ethnic Bank.

-          2003-2005: Associate Director for Desert Orchid Dance Company.

-          2004-2005: Producer of two “Buddha Lounge” Theme Parties. Salt Lake City, Utah.

-          2005: Founder of Troupe Shah Sitara Belly Dance Collaborative in Salt Lake City, Utah.

-          2006-2007: Producer of biannual Community Recital in Fort Collins, Colorado.
